Coming from a family of musicians, there wasn’t a time Dan can remember music not being a major part of his life. Growing up in St. Louis, he watched his older siblings and neighbors sing and play instruments in theater plays and local bands. He began his training on how to practice his instrument, put together shows, along with creating a burning desire to write and compose his own music. Dan quickly became the young gun guitarist in the area. After turning down a full scholarship for football, he turned his complete attention to his guitar and exactly one year later he earned a full ride music scholarship during his audition to the guitar program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he studied both jazz improvisation and classical composition. While he was in college he was playing on the local area circuit. Dan garnered enough attention to be 1 of 10 guitarists to audition for Ozzy Osbourne. Although he wasn’t chosen, it caught the attention of Pat Travers and he was invited to play with him. After his time with Travers, he put together his own band and began his songwriting career. The band quickly created a following and opening for REO Speedwagon, Stone Temple Pilots, Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, and Enuff Z’Nuff, to name a few. Shortly after coming off the road, they went into the studio and began recording songs written by Dan. With an EP to promote and a promise of an upcoming album, they got the attention of Michael Freeman, a Grammy Nominated and Award Winning Producer out of Chicago who was looking for a new rock band with a fresh sound. After striking up a friendship with Michael, Dan and his band relocated to Chicago to record an album with Freeman producing, while they toured and played the Chicago area circuit. The pivotal moment for Dan was being hired to do session work for A-level artists Michael was producing. He worked with artists and groups such as Tower of Power, Earth, Wind and Fire, as well as various individual artists and acts. After finishing his album, Dan relocated to Los Angeles where his music was discovered and licensed by Tricycle Records and Coach House Records jointly. Dan has enjoyed a successful career collaborating with producers and local artists in LA, while gigging at local venues. Dan lives with his wife and their children in LA. He writes and arranges new music across all genres from rock to rap to orchestral. These days, Dan’s lifetime experiences pour out into his music note by note
